Article 7 for Poland

Poland will soon be subject to Article 7 procedures due to Poland's latest judicial reforms, a prominent but unspecified diplomatic source in Brussels tells the daily Rzeczpospolita.
Only a personal vow by newly installed Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki that President Andrzej Duda will veto the judiciary bills could change minds of the EU's top officials, the source adds. Morawiecki offered no such pledge at Thursday's block summit and the scenario seems unlikely.
The European Commission needs to secure 22 out of 28 member votes to officially label Poland as a violator of rule of law, and the assumption is that most EU countries will vote in favor of launching the Article 7, Rzeczpospolita's informer concluded.
