Poland's new PM Mateusz Morawiecki will have to decide on a number of proposals by former PM Beata Szydlo concerning the structure of the government, deputy PM Jaroslaw Gowin told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily.
One decision will concern the fate of the Digital Affairs Ministry, which Szydlo wanted to liquidate, transferring its responsibilities to other ministries, another the potential merger of the Environment and the Energy Ministries.
Talks within the allied parties covered changes to some one third of ministers, Gowin said in reiteration of previous suggestions.
The new government will face three main challenges: finding a modus vivendi with the European Commission, acceleration of transformation of the economy to the innovative one and overcoming the problem of ministry-centric behavior within public administration, Gowin said.
