Ziobro dismisses court heads

Article's tools:

Zbigniew Ziobro
Poland's Justice Minister is dismissing current court heads wholesale, often replacing them with people of dubious credentials, Gazeta Wyborcza writes. Since August, Zbigniew Ziobro replaced 49 heads and 49 deputy heads of courts.
Among new appointees is a new head of an appellate court in Wroclaw, who has been a judge of a regional court for only several months and a new head of a Krakow court, who has been punished back in 2012 for unjustified prolonging of proceedings.
A new head of a court in Walbrzych was running in competitions to become a judge for 51 times before she eventually succeeded a year ago.
