Andrzej Duda
President Andrzej Duda officially signed bills on the supreme court and the top judicial body KRS into law.
Poland is stepping up its democratic standards, contrary to the opinions of many European institutions' representatives, Duda said in an interview for the Polsat news TV station.
The freshly adopted judiciary bills do not breach the rule of law and are constitutional, according to Duda.
European Commission's decision to recommend triggering the Article 7 procedure against Poland is viewed as purely "political" by the president.
