MiFID II directive causes problems

Polish firms are surprised with financial market regulator KNF's guidelines for applying regulations in the absence of a bill implementing the MiFID II directive, Gazeta Wyborcza writes, citing financial market lobbies.
Asset managers will "immediately start analysis of the legal effects" of the guidelines, asset manager lobby IZFiA head Marcin Dyl said.
Investment firms have to engage in a constant dialogue with the Finance Ministry and KNF to make sure the market is not hurt by the situation, brokerage lobby IDM management board member Piotr Sobkow said.
Poland's Finance Ministry completed the final draft of a bill implementing MiFID II directive and hopes for adoption by the government at the next cabinet sitting, the document published on government's legislative process website shows.
