Listed natgas group PGNiG is holding talks with potential LNG suppliers, including African companies, to secure a diversified portfolio of middle- and long-term contracts by mid-2018, deputy CEO Maciej Wozniak tells the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
PGNiG will not sign a new long-term natgas delivery contract with Russia after the Yamal Contract expires, but will welcome any efforts from the Russian side to do business with Poland under market conditions, Wozniak says.
The company hopes for a favorable outcome of its arbitration case against Gazprom and could use the money from the Russian concern for its investment plans, including purchasing Norwegian gas deposits, rather than for any additional payment to shareholders, he adds.
PGNiG might also increase the capacity of its gas storage facilities by 200-300 mln cubic meters within the next five years.
The company also wants to step up its business activity on the Ukrainian market under the agreement with the local gas pipeline operator UkrTransGaz granting it access to Ukraine's gas storage and transmission infrastructure, Wozniak adds.
