National Judiciary Council
The Polish government may reduce the scope of super-cassation constituting a part of the ruling camp's judiciary reform and introduce a 2/3 majority requirement in appointment of court presidents and vice-presidents in an attempt to alleviate the tension in relations with the European Commission, according to daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
The government will also try to convince Brussels that it will not seek to control the entire National Judiciary Council (KRS), but this may be hard to achieve given the opposition's plans to boycott the institution.
The new government is unlikely to back down before EC in other areas.
