Poland's recent changes to the election law, aimed at improving the organization of the local elections due November, may result in chaos and prolonged vote count, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza writes of the national election committee PKW's opinion published online.
The amount of red tape increases considerably due to the introduced changes, and the budget earmarked for organizing the elections falls at least PLN 142 million short of needs, PKW claims.
The commission's chair Wojciech Hermelinski is supposedly mulling resignation, the daily adds, citing unofficial information.
