Poland's VAT receipts improvement in 2018 won't be as spectacular as in 2017 and January and February could even bring some 15% year on year VAT income declines due to very high base, Rzeczpospolita daily writes, citing ING BSK economist Karol Pogorzelski.
As of March, VAT incomes should start rising again on the back of growth in consumption and further implementation of tax system tightening rules, Pogorzelski adds.
The 2018 VAT income will grow dynamically due to the introduction of the split payment or standard audit file, Pekao's economist Adam Antoniak agrees, while adding that the spectacular 2017 statistics are unlikely to reoccur. VAT recepits in 2017 stood at 7.9% of GDP, up by 1.1 ppt year on year, according to daily's calculations.
