Start-ups - state firms: a difficult cooperation

Mateusz Morawiecki
Polish start-ups may become discouraged from teaming up with state firms by a draft anti-corruption law, daily Rzeczpospolita writes.
While the development plan of PM Mateusz Morawiecki assumes increased role of innovations, the duties imposed by the bill on anybody cooperating with state firms may make such cooperation prohibitive, experts claim. Startups already prefer venture capital firms and treat state firms as their second or third choice, and the anti-corruption bill may further exacerbate the situation, a startup CEO Marcin Tchorzewski told the daily.
Legislators are reportedly already tweaking the regulations to remedy the problem.
