Cohesion funding in danger

Poland would lose from 10 to 20% of its EU cohesion funding and as much as EUR 2 to 2.5 billion in annual funding in the farm sector were the EU to proceed into the next budget perspective on the rough plan laid out by Commissioner Gunther Oettinger for the Brexit funding losses to be half offset by increased premiums and half by spending cuts in farm policy and cohesion funding.
An evolving French stance towards Common Agricultural Policy creates a lot of unknowns on outlook, one Polish MEP says.
Poland had previously been able to press for cohesion funding on assumption that France would do the dirty work on farm payments, but now may have to choose where to place its emphasis.
