President and MoD finally at peace
February 23, 2018
Article's tools:

General Jaroslaw Kraszewski
Polish president Andrzej Duda and the country's ministry of defense, now supervised by Mariusz Blaszczak, are on the fast track to ending the strife dating back to the tenure of the controversial head of defense Antoni Macierewicz, the dailies Gazeta Wyborcza and Rzeczpospolita write.
Both sides are making goodwill gestures, with Duda consenting to appoint fourteen new generals on March 1 - a thing that he repeatedly refused to do in the case of Macierewicz's nominees - and the ministry re-running a checking procedure in relation to General Jaroslaw Kraszewski, Director of the Armed Forces Supervision Department at the presidential National Security Bureau, deprived of access to classified information under Macierewicz.
The procedure, now carried out by Internal Security Agency ABW, is expected to bring a "positive" result, a source close to the president tells Gazeta Wyborcza.
