Poland facing ca. EUR 2.5 billion foreign trade deficit in 2018
March 3, 2018
Article's tools:

Poland will likely swing to a ca. EUR 2.5 billion foreign trade deficit in 2018 from a EUR 0.4 billion surplus in 2017, with imports seen rising ca. 8.5% year on year to ca. EUR 220.5 billion while exports should increase ca. 7% to ca. EUR 218 billion, ministry of business and technology analysts wrote in their quarterly report.
Imports should rise faster than exports due to "visibly accelerating investment growth and continued strong domestic demand. . . as well as further growth of oil prices and appreciation of the zloty," according to the report.
