Fuel emissions charge to be introduced in Poland
March 7, 2018
Article's tools:

Polish government seeks to raise PLN 1.7 billion in 2019 from a new PLN 0.08/litre emissions charge on petrol and diesel under a draft amendment to the biofuel law endorsed by the energy ministry, the draft legislation shows.

The government would inject PLN 340 million from the 2019 proceeds from the charge into a yet-to-be established low-emissions transport fund financing development of alternative fuels infrastructure.

10 year inflows to the fund from the fee are estimated at PLN 6.75 billion.

The charge would be paid by fuel producer or importer, or entity making an intra-EU purchase.
