Polish firms might face anywhere up to twenty billion zloty in annual costs due to changes being prepared for the labor code, which seek to replace civil contracts and self-employment with employment contracts, the daily Rzeczpospolita writes front page of its own estimates. Polish companies cannot afford employment contracts being forced upon them at this stage of their development, employers lobby Business Centre Club (BCC) expert Wojciech Warski comments. Civil contracts and self-employment are widespread in the so-called creative professions to ensure higher pay.
