TRADE BALANCE - Poland sported a PLN 8.4 billion current account surplus in January, or EUR 2.0 billion, after EUR 1.15 billion deficit in December, according to central bank NBP figures released on Friday.
LABOR MARKET, WAGES - Poland saw its nominal hourly labor costs rise by 6.5% year on year in the 4th quarter of 2017 following a 4.8% year on yeargrowth in 3rd quarter of 2017, according to the EU stats office Eurostat.
LABOR MARKET - Poland saw its job vacancy rate at 1.0% in the 4th quarter of 2017, down by 0.1 pps quarter on quarter, but up by 0.3 pps year on year, according to the Polish stats office GUS.
RETAIL SALES - Retail sales at stores with space floor of up to 300 square meters rose by 4.5% year on year in February and was down by 5.1% month on month, retailers chamber PIH estimates show.
LABOR MARKET, FISCAL POLICY - Poland could gain PLN 50 billion in GDP and PLN 20 billion in boost to public finance if it could get Poland's 4 million professionally inactive women onto the job market, Deloitte said in a report.
