Minister od justice (and prosecutor general in one person) Zbigniew Ziobro will gain significant powers to influence disciplinary procedures against judges as per the act on the Supreme Court entering into effect as of April 3, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna writes front page. This means the threat of imposing political influences on these procedures and hence on the judiciary in general, the paper warns.
Poland’s government is to submit the reply to the European Commission's recommendations concerning the judiciary reform on Tuesday. EC will withdraw the motion for the launch of Article 7 procedure uner a condition Polish government would adjust the reform as recommended by the EC.
