Listed copper giant KGHM is likely to appoint current deputy CEO and acting CEO Rafal Pawelczak as the new CEO, Puls Biznesu daily's sources say. Alternatively, in case the supervisory board failed to fully agree to appoint him as CEO, Pawelczak could continue his mission as acting CEO, a choice that could stabilize the matters in the company, insiders add.
On Wednesday the supervisory board interviewed candidates for the deputy CEO post, including former deputy CEO of KHGM Zanam Lukasz Holubowski, head of investor relations in JSW coal Artur Tarnowski, former deputy CEO of KGHM Miroslaw Blinski and KGHM's high level manager Radoslaw Stach, with the latter standing a fair chance of securing the post, sources tell the daily.
