The Polish government can start analyzing whether energy prices on the power exchange TGE can be used as a reference for the whole market after the end of the year at the soonest, power regulator URE head Maciej Bando told the daily Parkiet.
Turnover on TGE has risen clearly since the start of 2018, when the government increased the amount of power that energy firms are required to sell via the market, Bando said.
The government does not rule out that the first Nominated Electricity Market Operator (NEMO) with the right to offer services in the Polish market area could begin operations yet this year.
