Natgas giant PGNiG will likely post worse Q1 financial results vs. prior year period as gas trade profitability probably shrank notably due to relative high prices of the commodity in winter, brokerage DM BDM analyst Krzysztof Pado predicts.
The company may have also been hit by higher hydrocarbon exploration costs, he adds.
Q2 results should be better thanks to relatively low base in the upstream segment and high commodity prices coupled with fairly stable output, as well as the approaching resolution of PGNiG's arbitration dispute with Russian peer Gazprom, according to the analyst.
