Pawel Borys
The Polish government will introduce preferential treatment for lowest earners in a new version of the bill on employer-sponsored pension plans PPK, country's development fund PFR head Pawel Borys said during a debate hosted by internet news service Onet.
"[I]n the new draft of the PPK bill the lowest earners will be treated in a more preferential way, so that they can afford to participate in it" Borys said.
The initial version of the bill assumed an employee would pay at least 2% of its tax base to PPKs. That sparked some controversy, as critics suggested the burden could be significant for the lowest earners, who barely make ends meet.
