Coal miner Bogdanka's motion for a mining license for K-6 and K-7 deposit cannot be processed by the Environment Ministry until a court dispute concerning the area in question is completed, rival coal group Prairie Mining's CEO Ben Stoikovich said in a comment sent to PAP.
Warsaw court has blocked the ministry from issuing concessions or mining usage agreements for the deposit to any players other than Prairie Mining, on the latter's motion, until the court proceeding is completed, he wrote.
Bogdanka, unit of power group Enea, has filed for a mining license for K-6 and K-7 deposit adjacent to the area currently exploited by the company and would like to launch the first mining wall on the deposit in 2022 provided it obtains the license this year, Bogdanka said in a press statement.
