Poland's governing party Law and Justice (PiS) voted through a 20% pay cut for MPs, part of the governing party's reaction to voter outrage at bonuses for ministers.
Opposition party Civic Platform (PO) boycotted the vote. The final cut affected only base pay, not other components of compensation.
No word on how well the party has enforced a demand that ministers of the prior government give the bonuses to charity.
The labor ministry is working on a draft bill reducing remunerations of local authorities officials, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily writes.
