Poland's GDP growth will likely slow down to ca. 4.6% in Q2 and 4% in H2 after hitting 5.1% in Q1, ING BSK economist Jakub Rybacki commented after Q1 flash GDP growth release.
The expected slowdown will result from deteriorating economic situation in Western Europe coupled with consumption growth in Poland likely coming to a halt, daily Parkiet writes.
Domestic consumption should stay strong in the coming quarters, PKO BP economists counter as quoted by daily Puls Biznesu. In turn public investments growth may slow down later in the year as local governments will probably schedule most of their spending for H1, ahead of the autumn elections, bank BOS economists predict.
