Private equity group Abris is prepared to both bring in new investors to defaulting debt collector GetBack or sell it stake, the company has told regulators upon inquiry, Abris managing partner Pawel Gierzynski told the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
Abris is only interested in buyers willing to maintain the business, he said. A consortium of local industry players and partners, including the Altus TFI investment house, had taken up brief talks but they ended very quickly, an unspecified insider told the daily.
Regulators are now taking up an investigation to see if GetBack didn't overpay in a deal with an Altus fund to buy rival EGB.
