The Polish government wants to cap the number of corporate bond issuance addressees at 149 a year to prevent companies from rapidly increasing the number of their bondholders via frequent small-scale private placement, financial market watchdog KNF spokesperson Jacek Barszczewski comments on the regulator's latest initiative.
The measure is linked to the case of the now troubled debt collector GetBack, which used the said strategy to quickly boost the number of its bondholders to over 9,000.
