Michal Krupinski
Bank Pekao CEO Michal Krupinski supports his company's potential merger with Alior Bank due to the expected cost synergies and IT system upgrade for Pekao, according to unofficial information quoted by daily Parkiet.
Head of state fund and Pekao shareholder PFR Pawel Borys is reportedly less enthusiastic, probably due to concerns about dilution of PFR holdings in Pekao and reduction of the bank's dividend potential following the merger.
PFR does not favor any particular scenario for Pekao-Alior cooperation, the fund claims. A decision on the form of this cooperation may be made "at the top political level" and is expected by end-June, according to Parkiet.
