3 % down in automotive exports

Opel factory in Gliwice
Poland's automotive sector suffered an almost 3% year on year decline in Q1 exports, to shy of EUR 6.6 billion, the daily Rzeczpospolita writes of the data collected by market researcher AutomotiveSuppliers. pl. That comes on the back of decreasing production as vehicles and trailers makers suffered a 0.6% year on year fall in revenues in the period. The declines might aggravate in the entire 2018, also because of smaller production in the Opel factory in Gliwice.
The trend is offset by more than decent performance of automotive components producers as the latter increased their exports by 5.5% year on year in Q1, to the record value of EUR 3.13 billion. Still, Polish automotive firms may record no increase in exports and sector's output in 2018, partner in AutomotiveSuppliers. pl Rafal Orlowski says.
