Bus maker Solaris signed a deal to bring in Spanish rolling stock manufacturer CAF as an investor pending further talks supposed to finish by end-September, Solaris said in a press release of a deal the press had speculated could run to PLN 0.9-1.0 billion or beyond.
"I'm convinced that choosing CAF as an investor for Solaris will guarantee a promising future for the brand, its clients and employees," Solaris CEO Solange Olszewska said as quoted in the release.
CAF has exclusive rights until end-September to negotiate transaction details with Solaris, the Polish firm's PR officer Mateusz Figaszewski commented for PAP.
In early June the Polish press reported that state development fund PFR had placed a PLN 0.9-1.0 billion preliminary bid for Solaris following its owners' decision to sell the company.
Solaris employs over 2,300 people in Poland plus nearly 300 abroad.
