Polish gas giant PGNiG has ambition to become a global LNG trader and is now building its portfolio, deputy CEO Maciej Wozniak told the daily Rzeczpospolita.
PGNiG is interested in additional regasification capacity of the Swinoujscie LNG terminal but will make the final decision once the terms of capacity booking are known, Wozniak said.
PGNiG has high hopes when it comes to its project of building regasification stations in areas where gas grid access is more difficult, he said, adding that this year some 20 new projects should be announced.
PGNiG also plans to gradually increase the number of deposits in Norway in order to hike production in Norway to 2.5 bcm by 2022. PGNiG plans acquisitions of new deposits and also wants to apply for new concessions in the coming concession rounds, group’s press office told the daily Parkiet.
The group will carry out exploration drillings on recently acquired Aerfugl and Skogul deposits in 2019-2020 and plans to launch production there in 2020, the press office said.
