Judicial reform to be amended

Poland's governing party Law and Justice (PiS) may use the last Parliamentary sitting before summer break to force through last minute amendments to its judicial reforms, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza speculates. Amendments were forced by select protests amongst judges to the replacement of the Supreme Court Chief Justice and to select nominations by the Justice Ministry of Court Administrators at general courts nationwide. A bill on prosecutor offices submitted July 21 is a possible candidate for PiS to make such a move, but is not yet on the agenda for the pending sitting.
