Supreme Court appeals to EU Court of Justice

Poland's Supreme Court suspended application of provisions on retirement of Supreme Court judges, the institution's press representative Krzysztof Michalowski told PAP.
The Supreme Court has also requested the EU Court's of Justice opinion on judicial independence and age discrimination under EU law, he said.
The move follows adoption of the judiciary reform in Poland enabling sending Supreme Court judges aged 65 and above into forced retirement.
