Ruling party elections strategy

The governing party PiS has an apparent campaign strategy for autumn local government elections to focus on both the government's successes in social policy programs and to frame the opposition parties as a gang of noisy protesters with no real program, the daily Rzeczpospolita said in its analysis.
The opposition has begun with a campaign against PiS' tenure to date in central government, implying that taxpayers costs have risen but with benefits enjoyed exclusively by party insiders.
That opening salvo could fit into PiS characterization of the opposition as focused on protest rather than policy, some feel. The lead up to the coming election in the opposition parties has been focused on questions of personnel and unification of the party lists, not platform, they noted.
