The Polish government should hike retail electricity tariffs next year, as delays in hiking tariffs could make the eventual unavoidable hikes "shocking and hader to accept," energy market regulator URE head Maciej Bando told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily.
Bando "cannot imagine" power utilities forgoing motions for tariff hikes amid soaring CO2 emission rights and coal prices.
Heat prices will also go up, but the major hikes planned by heat distributors "are not justified," Bando said.
