The Polish government expects to shoulder PLN 8.74 billion in costs over 10 years on its plans to offer special pensions for mothers of four or more children, Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy said in an impact study to the draft regulation.
The annual cost of the planned benefit is seen between PLN 727.5 million and PLN 831.7 million, the ministry said.
The special pension for mothers of four and more children will equal the country's minimum pension benefit. Should the potential beneficiary already receive a benefit from the social insurer ZUS or social insurer for farmers KRUS, that benefit will be hiked to the minimum pension level.
Poland's ruling party Law and Justice (PiS) will strive to secure a parliamentary nod for the draft bill on the minimum pension for mothers with four or more children to end-2018, so that the law could take effect as of 2019, deputy PM Beata Szydlo told PAP on September 1.
