September 12, 2018
Article's tools:

Poland's cabinet settled the final amount of the 2019 minimum wage at PLN 2250, or 47.2% of the country's forecast average 2019 wage, above the previously approved proposal of a hike to PLN 2220, the government press office said in a statement following the cabinet's weekly sitting.
The minimum wage was thus raised by 7.1% vs the 2018 level.
The minimum hourly wage in 2019 was settled at PLN 14.70 vs PLN 13.70 in 2018, the statement also said.
Back in June, the cabinet approved the proposal to hike the current minimum wage by 5.7% to PLN 2220 gross - or 46.6% of the country's average wage - as of 2019.
On August 31, the daily Rzeczpospolita reported that the cabinet wanted to hike the minimum wage to PLN 2255 in 2019 versus that initial plan, citing insider information following the meeting of the government officials with Poland's major trade union Solidarnosc.
Currently, the minimum wage stands at PLN 2100 after it was hiked by 5% or PLN 100 as of January 2018.
