Krzysztof Lapinski
The recent departure of Presidential spokesperson Krzysztof Lapinski could signal that President Andrzej Duda is running low on trusted associates, a noted conservative commentator wrote for the daily Rzeczpospolita's weekend magazine.
The departure has up-ended a lot of the insider grasp of the Presidential chancellery, where Lapinski had once been understood as the force behind Duda's occasional efforts at independence from the governing party Law and Justice (PiS).
Now Lapinski is seen as the consecutive victim of efforts by chief aide Krzysztof Szczerski to sideline all rivals, which makes Duda increasingly vulnerable to a possible attack from the governing party.
