Polish railway infrastructure manager PKP PLK, is currently realizing PLN 32 billion worth of projects, having already completed projects worth PLN 7 billion, thus implementing over 60% of the national railway modernization program KPK, CEO Ireneusz Merchel told the daily Rzeczpospolita in an interview. The realization of the entire PLN 67 billion program is not threatened, he assured.
PKP PLK is working on a new investment perspective and hopes to rely more heavily on high-efficiency machines to address labor supply and cost problems, the CEO added. Over PLN 30 billion worth of projects is in the works, and first tenders are likely to be announced at the onset of 2021, according to Merchel.
