The Polish government will likely see its Supreme Court reform suspended by the EU Court of Justice in a week after formal receipt of the European Commission's complaint about the reform by the EU Court of Justice, which should happen within several days, daily Rzeczpospolita wrote.
The EC's move is a diplomatic fiasco for Warsaw and will likely further worsen the relations between the two sides as some ruling camp politicians may now be tempted to ignore the EU Court of Justice ruling, the newspaper wrote.
The ruling party Law and Justice (PiS) may opt for a "total" clash if the EU Court of Justice decision hits it in a week, hoping the confrontational stance will help it win the approaching local elections, according to political scientist Antoni Dudek.
