Debiensko coal mine
Listed coal miner JSW and Australian peer Prairie Mining will continue talks on potential cooperation that could eventually boost JSW's annual output by up to 500k tons of 35-grade coal form the Debiensko deposit, the two firms said in separate filings.
That possible cooperation concerns the projects Debiensko and Jan Karski, which had been the subjects of a six-month long technical information exchange between the two companies.
Pending the outcome of cooperation talks, JSW could annually produce up to 500,000 tons of 35-grade coal form the Debiensko deposit - taking advantage of the infrastructure of the neighboring mine Knurow-Szczyglowice -within 18 months from securing the necessary administrative decisions, including concession changes, JSW estimates.
JSW could also tap into a 34-grade coal deposit at the Jan Karski field, the two firms said.
Both sides stressed that their decision to continue talks gives no certainty as to any final agreement on any transaction or cooperation. Any potential transactions might depend on a number of conditions, such as regulatory nods and requirements, or corporate approvals, they said.
