Encore, Encore
TSA, a legend on the Polish rock music scene of the 1980s, will play at the Proxima club Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
TSA is regarded as the first real heavy metal band in Poland. The group's career took off at the rock festival in Jarocin in 1981. In the following year, TSA released its first album followed by two further albums, including one entitled Heavy Metal World, with songs in English.
In 1992, the founding members of the band Andrzej Nowak and Marek Piekarczyk traveled to the United States for a few years. After their return to Poland, conflicts began with the rest of the group, which sparked a battle for the band's name, widely reported on in the press. The parties eventually reached a compromise in 2000. May 5, 2001, for the first time in 18 years TSA played with its original lineup of Piekarczyk (vocal), Nowak (guitar), Stefan Machel (guitar), Janusz Niekrasz (bass) and Marek Kapłon (drums).
Tickets cost zl.30 in advance and zl.35 on the day of the concert and are available from the club's ticket office and at EMPiK stores.
