• Samoobrona Deputy Renata Beger prides herself on being able to cope with her growing popularity. "It doesn't tire me at all," she has confided. Waiters choose the best tables for her, people on the street ask her for autographs and to pose for photos together. There is no downside to popularity, the politician says.

• Muniek Staszczyk (pictured) of the band T. Love has shocked the public with one of his latest statements. He said he would like to smoke a joint with his teenage son-of course if the latter consented. Staszczyk expects that this will occur sooner or later anyway.

• Actor Bogusław Linda and film director Maciej ¦lesicki plan to found a private film school. Teachers would include top celebrities, among them Beata Tyszkiewicz and Marek Kondrat. Students would be trained in two departments: directing and acting. The project will probably get under way in the fall.

• Maciej Maleńczuk is reactivating his band Homo Twist and will play the title role in the play Bal u Wolanda at Chorzów's Rozrywki Theater. His group will provide the music for the production, and the leader will play the part of the Devil. "It's quite like me," the musician said.
