• One of the most famous contemporary Polish painters, Edward Dwurnik (pictured), is to paint a portrait of the recently deceased dog of Poland's first couple. The artist is already working on sketches, using the photographs of Aleksander and Jolanta Kwa¶niewski's beloved dog. And who says Polish painters have no integrity?


• Would-be Democratic Left Alliance chair Jolanta Banach says that she became a politician by accident. After high school she took entrance exams for a theater school. One of the examiners was eating wild cherries, so she couldn't focus fully on the erotic scene she had prepared. Today she believes that the Polish stage missed out on quite a good actress.


• Boxer Andrzej Gołota is a bit of a epicurian. Some time ago he didn't care what was on his plate, but that has changed. Now he prefers seafood and well-done steaks that he prepares himself. He says that his pals joke that sometimes he's better at this than boxing.


• Journalist Agata Młynarska has been concealing the fact that she re-married some time ago. Many of her family members learned about this only after the wedding. She guards her husband Jerzy against the press as he does not want publicity.
