• Pop singer Edyta Górniak gave birth to son Allan in late March. Despite earlier speculations that the birth would take place in Portugal, where the artist has a house, the child was born in the town of Łomża, the home of Edyta's partner, musician Dariusz Krupa.
• Janusz Korwin-Mikke (pictured right), president of the Union for Realpolitik (UPR), is a defender of smokers' rights. He says they smoke to get nicotine, just like he eats a bread roll to get some calories. Korwin-Mikke is renowned for controversial statements. Years ago, he "defended" drivers against the requirement of fastening seat belts; he claimed that this limited personal freedom.
• Singer Ryszard Rynkowski admits he did not pass exams to interior design studies and after high school worked as a laborer. He knows all about discipline and waking up at 4 a.m. At that point he promised himself not to lead such a life again. Today he says he has managed to achieve a life of luxury.
• Actor Michał Żebrowski will appear in Jacek Bromski's new film. He will play an expatriate to Siberia in the 19th century, and a beautiful daughter of a Chinese hunter will be taking care of him. The director is now going to a casting in China to find a partner for the Polish actor. It is bound to be a box-office hit, as love will be the film's main theme.
