Dear Sir or Madam,
Growing up a son of a son of a Polish immigrant, I always had the view of Poland of a dark and dismal land.
Due to the American media censorship of soviet bloc nations, rarely are beautiful photos ever shown. Even though Poland is an alley of America today the censorship is decades old and will take many more years to reverse the feelings of old media moguls.
In the US media, you will see London's Big Ben; Paris Eiffel tower; and the emerald hills of Ireland. Year after year in tourist photos and stories. Even when our President Bush visited Poland last year. The only photos of George W. Bush were of him stepping off an airplane. The photos may just as well been taken in New York, New York's airport tarmac.
However; if President Bush visits France, the entire country is photographed as he tours Paris.
I have never seen more beautiful photos and stories of Poland until I saw the Warsaw Voice on the World Wide Web. I am very proud to be a Polish American.
The Warsaw Voice (on line) has shown me Poland as a beautiful country. With Ocean, sand dunes in the north and mountainsides in the south. With beautiful Renaissance cityscapes though out Poland.
The U.S. media if it shows any photos of Poland show October skies of dismal shipyards of Gdansk.
I hope there will be a day when the U.S. shows it's brother's in arms the respect Poland deserves.
American's tourist industry should show the beauty Poland possesses.
God bless the Warsaw Voice. Thank you for publishing the Warsaw Voice on the World Wide Web in English.
Yours truly,
