• A popular newspaper put politicians to a simple test. It asked them about the price of a loaf of bread. Those who did not know the answer included Samoobrona's Andrzej Lepper(pictured right) - , Krzysztof Janik (SLD) and Jarosław Kaczyński (PiS). Moreover, the politicians had no clue about the prices of sugar, milk and eggs. What they did know very well, though, was the price of the most popular Polish brand of beer.


• The cult actor Stanisław Tym recently played a black basketball coach. It was not a role in a movie, but in a video clip of Polish hip-hop artist Numer Raz. This time, Tym appeared in a red track suit sporting a gigantic afro. The artist says he knows nothing about hip-hop, but is happy with their collaboration, since it is a popular kind of music.


• Actress Anna Przybylska and soccer player Jarek Bieniuk have finally decided to get married. They have been rearing a daughter together for three years. Przybylska, aged 26, was not exactly in a hurry to get married again, with one divorce behind her. Now, however, both partners have matured to the decision and are expected to change their tax status as early as June.
