Among other features, it is characterized by the fact that the soloist wants control (...) the piano part becomes everything, the weight of the composition rests on it," writes Prof. Regina Smendzianka in her latest book Jak grać Chopina – próba odpowiedzi (How to Play Chopin - An Attempt at an Answer).

In 2000 the International Frederic Chopin Foundation released the first book by Prof. Smendzianka, Jak grać Chopina? (How to Play Chopin?) concerning works for the solo piano. The new book, also released by the International Frederic Chopin Foundation, is dedicated to works for the piano and orchestra - i.e. the piano concertos in E minor op. 11 and F minor op. 21.
