Senate Passes Nuclear Power Legislation
The upper house of Polish parliament Senate has approved legislative changes allowing to build nuclear power stations in Poland.

The legislation now awaits the president's signature to become law.
The new regulations are planned to take effect on July 1, 2011.

Poland plans to build two nuclear power plants, each with the capacity of 3,000 MW. The first block of Poland's first nuclear power plant should go into operation in 2020.
