More than 50pct of Poles oppose country’s nuclear plans

Poland's plan to build nuclear power plants is supported by 35% respondents, while 51% are against and 14% have no opinion in the matter, a survey by public opinion researcher TNS OBOP showed.

Nuclear power plant construction is more often supported by men than women (45 to 25 percent), young residents of big cities (45 percent in the age group 20-29), and educated people (43 percent).

The poll was carried out among 1,000 Poles above 15 years of age on July 7 to 11.
