Poland eyes launching first nuclear block not before end-2023
Poland expects the first nuclear power plant will be launched by the end of 2023 and not in 2020, deputy Treasury Minister Zdzislaw Gawlik said of the planned update of the nuclear energy plan.

"The initial plan of building nuclear energy in Poland assumed that the first block would be ready in 2020 but following the update of the plan we assume the first block will be launched by end-2023," ," Gawlik said during a Treasury Commission sitting.

By the end of 2012 a contract's engineer should be selected, he added.

Poland had selected PGE as the lead investor for country's first nuclear power plant.
